What to expect

Although you will catch yourself marveling at the most visited Slovenian highlights during this private tour, note that time to reconnect with yourself, away from the usual tourist trappings, while surrounded with the most spectacular natural creations of our country, will also be provided. Spend a day in our adorable capital Ljubljana, then continue exploring the natural wonders and gain insight into destination's heritage and customs. Visit Slovenia's only national park, try adrenaline activities on the emerald Soča river, visit the famous Hemingway’s Kobarid and the awarded WWI museum, explore Idrija, see where the impressive tradition of lace making comes from and enjoy the best wine tastings in Goriška Brda.  

  • Itinerary

    • Arrival to the airport, private airport transfer to Ljubljana and check-in into a centrally located hotel. Free time to explore the city. 

      Overnight in Ljubljana

    • Enjoy a tour of Ljubljana, which includes a 2-hour walking tour of the city centre, visiting the major attractions in the city. Visit the impressive Ljubljana Castle and discover Ljubljana on a boat ride on Ljubljanica river, which offers a different perspective on Ljubljana. Explore its medieval old town and the old Roman ruins, admire the river banks and bridges of the Ljubljanica river, and take the funicular up to Ljubljana castle for great views of the city and the Alps.

      Overnight in Bled

    • Visit lake Bled, the most famous Alpine resort in Slovenia, take a pletna boat to the island, and visit the medieval castle perched on a cliff above the lake, with the best views of the lake. Take a walk around the lake and stop in one of many cafes to try the delicious traditional Bled dessert - Kremšnita.

      Visit the amazing Vintgar Gorge, an absolute gem. Vintgar gorge is deeply carved into the limestone by the Radovna river, which you can follow on a 1.6 km path full of bridges and galleries that show you the truly remarkable landscape of the gorge.

      Overnight in Bled

    • Visit the Triglav National Park, and visit the Pokljuka plateau. Pokljuka is a high-elevation karst plateau that goes as high as 1,400 meters above the town of Bled and is already a part of the Triglav national park. You will be able to admire the thick spruce forests that are only broken by scant roads and swamps. Pokljuka is also famous for its Biathlon Centre, where some of our best athletes train in the winter time. Continue to small villages with traditional alpine architecture, where you’ll also find Bohinj Lake, a fairytale alpine lake, nested in the heart of the Julian Alps. It is the largest and most beautiful Alpine lake in Slovenia. Being part of the Triglav national park, Bohinj will impress you with its natural beauty and its serene peacefulness. 

      Overnight in Kranjska Gora

    • Explore magical alpine resort Kranjska Gora and enjoy the natural beauty of the Alps. Be amazed by nature at its finest in Planica and explore historic buildings of Kranjska Gora. Experience the magic of world-famous mountain valley, where the first ever ski flying hill was built in 1969 and where numerous world records for the longest ski flights were set. Planica Nordic Centre offers many interesting and adrenaline winter and summer activities where fun is assured. Visit Zelenci, one of the Springs of river Sava, the biggest tributary of the dreamy Danube river, is actually an emerald green lake, situated at the northern edge of the Triglav national park. The fairytale lake does not freeze in the winter, because of the constant temperature throughout the year, which is about 6°C and is also a home to numerous endangered animal and plant species. Enjoy food tasting of traditional Slovenian dishes during an optional lunch in cozy local restaurant. 

      Overnight in Kranjska Gora

    • Visit one of the most beautiful river valleys in the world. Justly called the Emerald Beauty, the Soča river is famous for its green blue color, for its purity and clarity. The river is not the only spectacular sight in the valley since you are accompanied by eminent mountain peaks and wondrous waterfalls for most of the way. The whole area is also pervaded by memories of the battles that were fought in this valley during WWI, which can be traced in the war cemeteries and memorials. In Kobarid you will explore the awarded WWI museum and walk to another remarkable sight, the Kozjak waterfall, which is considered to be one of the most striking waterfalls in Slovenia.

      Overnight in Goriška Brda

    • This day travel to Goriška Brda region (called the Tuscany of Slovenia), local sightseeing and wine-tasting. This is a land of gently rolling hills, covered with orchards and vineyards and dotted with small, forgotten villages. Some of the best wine tastings are waiting for you in small romantic old villages like Šmartno. Take time to enjoy the views over the rolling hills covered in vineyards with a glass of good Rebula wine and gourmet dinner at Castle Gredič. 

      Overnight in Goriška Brda

    • On your way to Idrija, stop at the breath taking Tolminka Gorge. Continue to Idrija and visit mysterious underground, once world’s second biggest mercury mine, and see where the impressive tradition of lace making comes from. Marvel at the natural beauties, such as the deepest lake in Slovenia, Wild lake.  

      Overnight in Idrija

    • Stop in Predjama and see the amazing Predjama castle, learn about its turbulent history and unbelievable legends. Continue to Postojna cave – Slovenia’s number 1 attraction. Enjoy an underground train drive in a world of stalactites, stalagmites and beautiful halls and explore the interesting cave animal Human Fish (Proteus Anguinus). 

      Afterwards departure to the airport.

    • Guests are recommended to wear comfortable shoes and warm clothes as the temperature in Postojna Cave is constant 9°C.
    • A current valid passport or ID is required on the day of travel.
