Daytrip highlights

Bled island with Pletna boat

A trip to Bled must be a part of any visit to Slovenia. On our tour to Lake Bled we treat you with a traditional pletna boat ride to Bled island, a top attraction in Slovenia. Pletna boats are unique to Lake Bled and operated by a single rower with two long oars. Following the boat ride, you have some time to explore the little island and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding area.

You can opt to enter the Church of the Assumption and even ring the wishing bell, which has been ringing over Lake Bled since 1534.

Bled castle above Lake Bled

Our tour to Lake Bled takes you up to Bled castle, perched on a sheer cliff high above Lake Bled. Visit the Bled castle museum, which gives you an insight into the history of the entire area, and admire the views of Lake Bled from several viewpoints at the castle. Bled castle is more than a thousand years old, and one of the most spectacular castles in Slovenia.

Rafting option

Slovenian rivers are famous for their beauty and the ones in the Gorenjska region are perfect for anyone looking for an adventure with their exciting waves, rapids and currents. White water rafting is a great, fun way to experience nature and to see an area from a different point of view. If you haven’t done it before don’t worry. No previous experience is required.

Canyoning option

The canyons in the area of Bled are some of the most beautiful in the country and are a part of protected areas. The deep gorges and the crystal clear waters make canyoning a thrilling adventure as you get to experience the breath-taking natural beauties in a unique way. It merges all the outdoor sports into one tremendous activity: hiking through beautiful forests, climbing, swimming in pools of fresh mountain spring water, jumping down waterfalls, abseiling and much more.

  • SAFETY AND EQUIPMENT: White water rafting is a very safe sport and the safety precautions are strictly followed. Every boat is steered by an expert guide with years of guiding experience and detailed knowledge of the rivers. Every guest is provided with all necessary equipment needed for the trip: wetsuit, shoes, life jacket, helmet and of course a paddle.
  • WHAT TO BRING? Each person will need to bring swimwear that is worn under the protective wetsuit, a towel and dry warm clothes.
  • You will meet your rafting guides in Bled and they will take you to the entry point on the Sava Dolinka river, where you will change into your gear. Your belongings will be taken to the finishing point of the rafting. You will be divided into groups of 8 people per raft. Each raft has its own guide who will explain the basics of rafting, as well as the safety precautions. Then you will carry the rafts to the river and board them. You will be on the river approximately 1.5-2 hours. After finishing, you will be able to change into your dry clothes.
  • SAFETY & EQUIPMENT: In order to ensure the best canyoning experience for everyone, safety is the first priority. You will be in the company of local licensed guides who are very experienced. The water in the canyons is refreshingly cold. Each participant get a thick wetsuit that protects them from the elements. Other equipment that will be provided includes shoes, a helmet and a climbing harness used for abseiling.
  • WHAT TO BRING? You will need to bring a swimsuit to wear under the wetsuit, a towel to dry off at the end, and a bottle of water. If it is a cold day, a warm change of clothes is a good idea as well.
  • You will meet your canyoning guides in Bled and they will take you to the entry point, where you will change into your gear. After a short walk you will reach the gorge and begin your adventure. You will be abseiling, jumping into rock pools, sliding down natural toboggans and swimming. On average it lasts between 3-3.5 hours. Because canyoning uses many elements of other sports, it is physically a bit more demanding and therefore isn’t suitable for children under 10 years or shorter than 150 cm.
