We can stop for a typical local lunch, like grilled trout, and a glass of cviček, rosé-coloured wine endemic to this region. Cviček (pronounced tsvee-check) is a fresh tasting wine, characterised by low alcohol content. Since white grapes have been forbidden from Italian Chianti, cviček is now supposedly the only recognised wine blended of red and white grape varieties, making it unique in the world. Cviček is protected with the mark of a recognized traditional denomination, and because it contains flavonoids, cviček is supposed to have healing effects at illnesses ranging from coronary diseases to diabetes.
